When Misty Copeland rose as the first Black principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, she shattered centuries of exclusion in ballet. She did not shrink when told her body did not fit the mold. Instead, she danced her truth into history.

Misty’s journey is a love letter to every Black girl who has felt out of place in classrooms, studios, or boardrooms. The lesson: you belong in every room your feet carry you to. You do not have to bend yourself into someone else’s shape. Your presence is proof that you are enough.
